Choosing the Right Laminate Grade
Laminates in India are classified by thickness: 0.8mm (postforming, budget), 1mm (standard furniture), and 1.5mm (heavy-duty, commercial use). For residential wardrobes and kitchens, 1mm high-pressure laminates (HPL) from brands like Merino, Greenply Dekor, or Century are the industry standard.
Surface finishes range from Gloss and Matte (everyday) to Metallic, Woodgrain, and Fabric-texture (premium segment). Always order an extra 15-20% to account for the inevitable cuts at edges, handles, and hinges.
